Each month the Woody Creek Community Center features a new show by a local artist. This month, our artists are Terry Stephenson & Sam Louras. The show will run October 1 – October 31. Please email email@example.com to get in touch with either of the artists!
Artist Biography | Born in Minn., Terry studied interior and architectural design at Woodbudy College in Los Angeles. She spent a year in France and briefly studied at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Upon returning to the U.S., she took up skiing and moved to Aspen in 1969. After 10 years of wairing tables at the “old” Red Onion, she went to work for the Aspen Post Office. During that time she developed a love of the mountains on long runs and rides while training for marathons and Ironman triathlons. She vowed to paint the beautiful places from her adventures when she retired. She is now totally enjoying this new path.
Artist Biography | Sam was born at the Military Academy at West Point, New York. Earning a BFA in Graphic Design & Illustration she spent several years working for advertising agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area. After raising two children, she and her husband Peter moved to Aspen in 2005. She continues to follow her passion of art, athletics, and philanthropy. The mountains are the perfect backdrop and environment to paint, run, bike, and support the community. You might see her at various charity uphill races and the Aspen Thrift Shop. On October 20th Sam will be running a half marathon in Amsterdam to support Challenge Aspen. All art sale proceeds will be donated to Challenge Aspen.
