CONVERSATIONS WITH THE CURIOUS: GEORGE STRANAHAN | Thursday, June 6th | 5:30-7:00pm For anyone interested in Woody Creek and it eclectic citizens, please join ‘Conversations with the Curious.’ Hosted by journalist Paul Andersen, this series will feature interviews with influential Woody Creekers. The next community discussion will be Thursday, June 6th, and will feature Woody Creek scion, George Stranahan, who is a gifted writer, photographer and philanthropist. ART OPENING: NINA ROSSELLO & FRANK SMITH | Friday, June 7th | 6:00-8:00pm Come to the Art Opening at the WC3 for June. Artists featured are Frank Smith, a wood sculptor, and Nina Rossello, who works with pen & ink drawings printed on fabric, and photography.

The next community discussion will feature raconteur, rancher and writer Tony Vagneur, who will delve into the deep history of Woody Creek.

KID’S ARTS & CRAFTS: FATHER’S DAY THEMED! Saturday, June 15th | 11:00-1:00pm This Father’s Day weekend WC3 will host a Father’s Day themed Arts & Crafts session. HEALING WITH ESSENTIAL OILS | Monday, June 17th | 7:00-8:00pm Monica Goodsell will host this night of healing with essential oils. Essential oils have been used historically for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits and they also have a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications.

FREE WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENSE SEMINAR | Saturday, June 29th | 10:00am-3:00pm Woody Creek Community Center will host a free Women’s Self-Defense Seminar on Saturday, June 29th. The seminar will be from 10:00am – 3:00pm, with a one hour break for lunch at noon. This basic level 5D Defensive Tactics seminar will teach women safe, simple, and effective methods of self-protection that work in the real world. MINI HEALTH FAIR | Saturday, June 29th | 9:00am-11:00am Are you in need of wellness check-up or medical consult?  If so, The Neighborhood Clinic at Woody Creek is hosting a Mini Health Fair on Saturday, June 29th from 9 – 11 am. Traditional and holistic practitioners will be available to see walk-in patients.  All services are free of cost and include: vitals, blood glucose tests, posture analysis, HIV tests, self-care instruction, consults on personal nutrition, and much more. SUNDAYS | Classical Guitar in the Garden | 11am-1pm Have brunch to the relaxing simple sounds of classical guitar. Chris Phillips, also known as Biff, will be performing outside in the garden from 11am to 1pm. His style ranges from Flamenco to Irish to Jazz.

MONDAYS | Stretching with Friends | 9:00-10:00am Wake up! Start your morning right with ’Stretching with Friends,’ a class which features stretching and light aerobics. Led by Julia Penny. Bring your yoga mats, stretch bands, and wear comfortable clothes!

TUESDAYS | Free Energy Healings | 12:00pm WC3 hosts free energy healings every Tuesday at noon by Martha Hammel. Come be restored!

FIRST & THIRD TUESDAYS | 8 Universal Spiritual Group | 7:15-8:30pm Woody Creek Community Center hosts ‘8 Universal’ on the first and third Tuesday of each month, from 7:15-8:30pm, starting June 18th. 8 Universal is a spiritual movement whose purpose is to accelerate a shift in planetary consciousness. Group meetings are designed to engage the participant in the process of personal transformation, healing, and empowerment. Meetings are free. Led by Jeff Hoffman.

TUESDAYS | Intro to American Sign Language | June 18th & June 25th | 1:00-2:00pm Have you ever seen a person signing before? Have you ever been curious to try sign language? Now’s your chance! American SignLanguage (ASL) is a beautiful, 3-D language unlike any other. You’ll have the opportunity to learn basic signs that enable you to communicate with deaf and hard of hearing community members. Free drop-in ASL classes will be led by Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

TUESDAYS | FREE DOCTOR’S HOURS | June 4th & June 18th | 4:00pm-6:00pm The Neighborhood Clinic at Woody Creek offers walk-in Doctor’s Hours that are free and open to the public every other Tuesday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m at the Woody Creek Community Center. WEDNESDAYS | Gentle Yoga with Melisa Sweet | 6:00pm-7:00pm Relax after the workday; Come for a gentle yoga class with restorative poses, stretching, breath work, and meditation. A chance to go inward and connect with one’s true essence. Taught by Melisa Sweet. Please bring your yoga mat, yoga blocks, straps, and blankets, if you have them, and wear comfortable clothes! FIRST & THIRD WEDNESDAYS | Guided Meditation | 7:30pm-8:30pm Stuart Geltner channels the Solari Group, and he will lead a guided meditation through telecast from Boulder, CO. The Solari Attunement is a great for balancing your body’s energies for healing and wellness, and connecting with the eternal stillness and peace that is your true nature.

WEDNESDAYS STARTING JUNE 19th | Hiking Group | 9:00am Meet at WC3 at 9:00am, leave at 9:30am with a group for a local hiking trip. This group will start with beautiful hikes in the immediate area, and progress to hikes all over the valley! The first hike will be hosted by Missy Prudden, along the Rio Grande to Jaffee Park.

THURSDAYS | Kids’ Arts and Crafts | 10:00am-11:00am Who doesn’t love markers, felt, gluesticks and glitter? Come for Kids’ Arts and Crafts! Led by Emily Taylor, who received her Fine Arts degree from Pomona College. Ages 2 and up welcome! A new project every week.

THUSDAYS | Open Mic Night! | 7:30-9:30pm Come to Open Mic Night! Musicians, Jugglers, Singer-Songwriters, Poets, Thespians, Yodelers  welcome! Hosted by Michael Jack.

SOME FRIDAYS | Mom & Tots Zumbatomic Class | June 21st & June 28th | 10:00am-10:45am Rockin’, high-energy fitness party packed with specially choreographed, kid-friendly routines and all the music moms and kids love!.Taught by certified Zumba Instructor Elaine Kozel.

FRIDAYS | WC3 Art Circle | 4:00pm-6:00pm Interested in art? Come for a casual art hangout – A great way to meet other artists in the valley. We discuss art, work on current pieces, and occasionally have a figure drawing session. Free Event. Materials Provided.
